About BAFA

The British American Football Association (BAFA) are the national governing body for the UK American Football scene.  By registering for either Contact or Flag, BAFA provides vital insurance for all players, coaching staff and non-coaching staff during the season.

How to register



Anyone interested in playing contact must register using the BAFA JustGo website.

The minimum age for playing contact American Football is 13 years old.

For all returning players for U16, U19 and Adult contact teams must renew your membership to BAFA using the JustGo website.  

This also includes contact coaching staff, player/coaches and some non-coaching staff.

Adult Flag players must register for an INDIVIDUAL membership and link it to the Berkshire Renegades Adult Flag team membership. 

U11, U14 and U17 Flag players are insured within the TEAM registration and are added to the Club Administrator’s Playwaze account.  Parents will need to provide full name, date of birth and recent image of the player so they are included and insured.


Without registered coaching staff, the Berkshire Renegades American Football Club are unable to run.  BAFCA (British American Football Coaching Association) work in conjunction with SportStructures to provide coaching training for anyone who would like to become a coach with the club.  Currently there are 3 levels for coaches – the entry level is Level 1.  More details below.
